SEQ Combined Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) and Level 2 Teaching Swimming
Description
These qualifications are aimed at those working with swimmers in a learn to swim environment utilising the Swim England Learn to Swim Framework (or equivalent). They are recognised as Level 1 and Level 2 vocational qualifications respectively. Both the SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) and SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualifications are endorsed by CIMPSA against the professional standards for the swimming assistant and swimming teachers.
The SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualification is designed to be a practical qualification which develops the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to be a swimming teacher. It is designed to build on the knowledge, skills and abilities achieved through the SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) qualification. Once achieved it will ensure that swimming teachers can effectively and independently plan, prepare, deliver, monitor and evaluate a series of teaching sessions.
The Qualification Objectives
The objectives of the SEQ level 1 Swimming assistant (Teaching) and SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualification are to:

The Qualifications Cover
The Level 1 qualification provides individuals with the essential knowledge and skills needed to assist a qualified Swimming teacher in delivering high quality, inclusive swimming lessons.
The Level 2 qualification enables individuals to effectively to plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate swimming lessons independently. It also gives individuals the skills and confidence to provide quality, inclusive and fun swimming lessons
Entry Requirements
1. | Candidates must be at least 16 years of age on the first day of the course. | |||
2. | These courses are intensive combining 2 qualifications together so learners must be prepared to complete work outside of the classroom in order to fulfil the course and assessment requirements by the end of the course |
Assessment
The Level 1 qualification is made up of 8 learning outcomes and 23 assessment criteria.
The Level 2 qualification is made up of 10 learning outcomes and 35 assessment criteria.
To achieve these qualifications, individuals need to:

• | produce evidence and work that is their own and in English | |||
• | be assessed against all assessment requirements by the course tutor/assessor |

Certification
Once the learner has completed the course and all the learning outcomes, assessment criteria and assessment requirements have been achieved Survive and Save Training can forward your results to Swim England Qualifications for certification. Certificates can usually be expected around 4 weeks following the end of the course.
Certificates will be awarded for both SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) and SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming
It should be noted that attendance at this course alone does not guarantee that you will pass this qualification. All assessment requirements must meet the required standard to be awarded this qualification
Holders of this qualification are entitled to apply to CIMSPA for Swimming Teacher Practitioner membership
What next?
Following successful completion of the SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming you will be eligible to work as a swimming teacher in either paid employment or volunteer role.
